May 10, 2017 The Call – URGENT – #SpecialProsecutor Urge members of Congress to demand that the Deputy Attorney General appoint a Special Prosecutor to investigate Russia’s interference in the US election, and collusion with the Trump campaign. Trump’s summary dismissal of FBI Director James Comey is officially because of the Clinton email investigation. But that explanation is suspect considering the timing. The firing comes the day after Sally Yates & James Clapper’s damning testimony and on the same day as reports that a grand jury has issued subpoenas to Michael Flynn associates. Attorney General Jeff Sessions, who is supposed to be recused on both the Russia and Clinton email matters, participated in the firing decision. This has all the hallmarks of obstruction of justice to bury the Trump Russia investigation. To top off the damning optics, Trump will meet today at the White House with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, who according to the Steele Dossier, was a central figure in Russia’s alleged coordination with the Trump campaign. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), with full backing of Democratic Senators, has called for a Special Prosecutor to be appointed immediately. Republicans Senators have had a variety of milder reactions. This certainly appears to be political and part of a cover-up. It’s not possible for Americans to have any confidence that the Trump-appointed DOJ will conduct a fair and thorough investigation. We need a Special Prosecutor now. Our Democracy literally depends on it.
