July 25, 2017 The Call – #SaveACA #ProtectOurCare #SaveMedicaid Republicans narrowly voted to move to debate and amend a healthcare bill nobody has seen, which would affect all Americans and restructure a sixth of the economy. It is impossible to know what a final bill would look like. But based on the CBO scores of all previous versions, as per the NYT, it is clear any final bill would be “incredibly cruel and needlessly devastating.” Please listen to Senator Chris Murphy [D-CT] explain how the Republicans don’t have the votes for any of the versions yet and how our voices can make the critical difference. Democrats should be urged to use every possible tactic to defeat the ACA repeal. Republicans need to be told that any plan that benefits the wealthy and leaves sick and vulnerable Americans without insurance is unacceptable.
