July 13, 2017 The Call – #ProtectOurCare #KilltheBill Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is expected to unveil a revised Trumpcare plan today, with a vote next week. The bill is expected to slash Medicaid and have a devastating impact on those with pre-existing conditions. If the Republicans cannot agree on a deal, Trump is urging them to repeal Obamacare now on a delayed basis, to be replaced with an undetermined plan in the future. Any version of the Senate bill McConnell crafts will remain a tax cut for the wealthy at the expense of poor and middle income Americans, with the pain likely hidden until after the midterm elections. Hospitals, doctors, nurses, AARP, patient advocate groups and virtually all disease advocacy groups strongly oppose Trumpcare. Democrats are making plans to exploit Senate rules to the maximum to challenge provisions of the bill. Dems should be urged to use every possible tactic to defeat the Trumpcare. Republicans need to be told that any plan that benefits the wealthy and leaves sick and vulnerable Americans without insurance is unacceptable. A high volume of calls is needed to kill Trumpcare and get on with the business of fixing Obamacare. Your Action Call both your senators and tell Democrats stop Senate business if necessary to block the bill. Tell Republicans that any bill that gives tax cuts to the wealthy and leaves sick and vulnerable Americans without insurance is wrong for the country. Talking Points
