Daily Call To Action: February 14th, 2017

February 13, 2017 The Call – Investigate Flynn Matter Urge your members of Congress to publicly support an independent investigation of former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, his conversations with the Russian ambassador, Sergey Kislyak, and whether anyone else on President Trump’s transition team was aware of or approved those conversations. Flynn (and Vice-President Mike Pence), repeatedly denied that Flynn discussed sanctions with Kislyak in the calls, which occurred prior to the President’s inauguration. However, The Washington Post reported that Flynn did discuss sanctions in the calls, some of which were intercepted by US intelligence. Representative Adam Schiff (D-CA), the ranking member on the House Intelligence Committee, said there are allegations that, in addition to the reported calls, Flynn had encrypted communications with Kislyak. Most recently, The Washington Post reported that Flynn was in communication with Kislyak during the Presidential campaign, that sanctions were the primary topic of at least one of the post-election calls and that then Acting Attorney General, Sally Yates, warned the White House that Flynn could be vulnerable to Russian blackmail because he lied about the conversations. Your Action Call all three of your members of Congress and ask them to make a public statement requesting a full and independent investigation of the Flynn matter, including whether anyone else on President Trump’s transition team knew of or approved Flynn’s conversations with the Russian ambassador. Script “Hi. My name is [NAME] and I’m a constituent in zip code [ZIP]. I urge [Rep/Sen____] to publicly call for a full and independent investigation into the Flynn matter, including whether anyone else on the President’s transition team knew of or approved Flynn’s conversations with the Russian ambassador. It’s unacceptable that the former National Security Adviser lied about his communications with a foreign official, leaving himself open to blackmail. It appears the administration was warned about the issue weeks ago by the then acting Attorney General. I will be closely following [Rep/Sen’s____] statements and actions on this matter. I greatly appreciate your time.”
