December 21, 2017 The Call – #NetNeutrality #SaveNetNeutrality Despite overwhelming public sentiment against it, the FCC adopted a rule rolling back net neutrality last week. Rolling back net neutrality would allow internet service providers to charge more to access popular sites and degrade streaming services until someone pays them more money, while gutting consumer protections for internet users. The FCC process was deeply flawed, with millions of stolen identities used to submit bogus comments to the FCC supporting the end of net neutrality. Starting with New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, the attorney generals of 17 states (CA, DE, HI, IA, KY, MA, MD, ME, MS, NC, NY, OR, PA, VA, VT, WA) have announced they will sue to rescind the rule. Every state Attorney General should be willing to join the suit to prevent the net neutrality rollback from going into effect. Your Action Call your state AG & thank them if they have joined NY in suing the FCC. If they haven’t, tell them you support net neutrality & want them to join the suit. Talking Points
