Call to Action: The Senate Must Convict Donald Trump

Updated: Feb 2

Your Action:

Contact your U.S. Senators at (844) 447-7270 and demand they vote to convict and disqualify Donald Trump.

Background:

On Wednesday, January 13, the U.S. House of Representatives voted to impeach Donald Trump for the second time. This the only time in our nation's history that a U.S. president has been impeached twice. It's also our most bipartisan impeachment. The Senate trial will begin soon and many Senators have not yet indicated where they stand regarding convicting or acquitting Donald Trump.

Donald Trump must be held accountable for his central role in the invasion and desecration of the Capitol. Trump incited the seditious, violent attack on the U.S. Capitol to prevent Congress from performing its constitutional duty of certifying the election of the 46th President of the United States. In this attack, the Capitol was invaded and ransacked; and five people died, including a Capitol Hill police officer who was killed in the line of duty.

Trump put the lives of everyone in the Capitol that day in jeopardy.Trump is a clear and present danger to the safety and security of the country. The Senate must vote to convict -- While he is no longer in office, we must ensure he is prevented from ever holding public office again.

For Senators who have indicated they will vote to convict:

Hello [SEN]. My name is [NAME] and I’m a constituent [ZIP CODE].

Donald Trump incited a violent insurrection against our Capitol, tried to overturn the results of our election, and put people’s lives in jeopardy, including yours and your staff members. This is a gross abuse of power worthy of impeachment. He must be held accountable. This means convicting him and disqualifying him from holding future office.

As a concerned constituent and a supporter of the Constitution, I believe that no one is above the law. Thank you for upholding your oath of office. I am proud to have you representing our district. Thank you.

For Senators who have not indicated they will vote to convict OR who have indicated they will vote to acquit:

As a concerned constituent and a supporter of the Constitution, I believe that no one is above the law. It’s time for you to uphold your oath of office. Failure to do so would be an abdication of your responsibility as a member of Congress and a stain on your legacy. I urge your to do your patriotic duty and vote to convict. Thank you.
